Joshua D. Averett is an emerging writer based in Rhode Island whose work explores the relationship between perception, environment, and underlying metaphysical systems. His practice moves between design, writing, and film constructing controlled, aesthetic spaces in which psychological and emotional states reveal deeper structures within lived experience.He studied Sustainable Design and Film at Hampshire College, and holds an Associate’s degree in Liberal Arts, where he led interdisciplinary design and storytelling projects. His early film work includes the music documentary From the Start, as well as short-form video work developed through studies in architecture and environmental design. Joshua has contributed to narrative film production with Realms Media as a casting assistant and behind-the-scenes videographer on the short film The Mirror Between Us.He recently self published Nazunas Volume I, an evolving short story series. His current work reflects a focused transition into filmmaking, grounded in his writing and centered on psychologically driven, visually controlled narratives.
